Cursive Sephardi script. Fragment from a commentary on the treatise, Berakhot, ("Benedictions") from the Babylonian Talmud, folios 36a-b and 43a.

The unknown author of this commentary must have lived in a Catalan speaking area because at times Catalan words appear: lliri=lily, nou moscada= nutmeg, sucre=sugar, neules=rolled wafer, gingebre=ginger, etc. Many authors commented upon this treatise during the middle ages. They often copied from one another making additions. Author unidentified.
