24th General Assembly of the Network

Jaén, March 17th 2007

On March 17th, the 24th General Assembly of the Network of Spanish Jewish Sites was celebrated in Jaén, city which holds the current presidency of the Network.
The Assembly agreed, among other subjects, the reform of the Statutes of the Association, and a new model of organization that fixes the rotation of the presidency and the table of the presidency in six months instead of one year, as it used to be until today.
The Report of activity 2006 was presented. This has allowed us to check the increase of the quantity and the quality of the organized events and the achieved goals in the cultural, touristic and social forums, in a national and international level. We could highlight the declaration of Great European Cultural Route given by the Council of Europe, the concession of the Samuel Toledano Prize 2006, the store of contacts with the incipient Network of Jewries of Portugal and the  support received from different political or cultural personalities, that have situated the Network as an entity of great relevance in the Spanish and European cultural world, and have converted it in an unavoidable reference for the meeting between different cultures and people.
The Assembly established also the strategic lines of development of the Network during 2007 and 2008. For more information, the conclusions are available in the Press Area at: www.redjuderias.org

Sentence on the competition of posters

Barcelona, March 9th 2007

The meeting of the Jury of the Poster Competition of the Network took place in Barcelona. The Jury was composed by: Mr. Lluís Bassat and Mr. Ángel Sánchez, Founder President and Creative Director of the Bassat Ogilvy Group respectively; Mr. Ricardo González and Mr. Antonio Serrano, managers of the company of Marketing and Publicity Puntoreklamo, respectively; Mrs. Elena Vadillo, Head of the Area of Cultural Tourism and City of Turespaña; Mrs. Assumpció Hosta, General Secretary of the Network of Spanish Jewish Sites and Mr. Juan Cuevas Mata, Representative of the Town Council of Jaén in the Network, who acted as secretary. After an extense debate it was concluded that none of the posters brought sufficient qualities together to be the public image of the Network in the national and international area. Though the Jury recognized in some of them good plastic and creative ideas, it decided, finally, to declare the Competition deserted. From here the Network wants to thank the dedication and effort of all the participants.
